Christian is one of the leading experts for Railway Operational Technology Cybersecurity in Europe. While studying at the university he already worked for a training facility for railway operations and due to this initiated contact with the area of OT. Later he intensified this during his research for the Security Engineering Department of TU Darmstadt in the area of Critical Infrastructure Protection. During this time he also was responsible for the courses in the area of CI protection and Railway security. Later on he became the responsible for the security architectures of the command and control systems of one of the major German transportation providers. In this context he also worked on several governmental topics and also was elected as the Convenor of the WG26 of CENELEC TC 9X, where he developed the Technical Specification 50701 (Railway applications – Cybersecurity). He had also the opportunity to receive a training by the Department of Homeland Security and the US CISA in Idaho Falls on protection of critical Industrial Control Systems. Since he switched to CyberShield, he is responsible for training of internal and external personnel in the area of Cybersecurity. He holds Master degree in IT-Security, is certified in Implementation and Auditing of Management Systems (PECB ISO 27001 LI/LA) and holds a CISSP, CCSP, GICSP and CISM, CISA and CRISC certification.
